Admission Criteria
The De La Salle School admits students of any race, color, creed, national, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. The De La Salle School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, national, and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, scholarship programs, and other school-administered programs.

  Admission Policy
In general, the successful candidate for admission to the fifth grade at The De La Salle School is a young man who:
- Expresses interest in enrolling
- Earned promotion from the fourth grade
- Demonstrates proficiency with written and spoken English
- Possesses age-appropriate social skills
- Reads at least at the third grade level
- Has the recommendation of his current teacher and the Principal of his present school
- Lives with an adult who desires the environment and instruction of a Catholic school for him, is committed to active involvement in his education, and is prepared to pay at least $75 per month toward tuition (the balance is covered through the generosity of benefactors).

Preference will be given to those who qualify for free or reduced price federal lunch and who have met the above requirements. Other applicants may be placed on a waiting list.
If by August 1st all seats are not filled in a particular grade, wait-listed students will be admitted in order of financial need. Families able to contribute more than the $75 minimum per month will be asked to do so on a sliding scale.

  Admission Process
The application package must contain the following:

- Student's most recent report card and other unofficial records from his present school
- Parent's or guardian's Federal income tax return for the past year (Form 1040 or equivalent)
- Signed authorization from parent or guardian for release of student's official records
- Written recommendation from the Principal of student's current school and from his current teacher
- Non-refundable $10 fee which can be applied to first month's payment

Following receipt of all of the above, the application's candidacy will be assessed. If the student meets the criteria for admission, he and at least one adult with whom he lives will be interviewed by school personnel. The student will also participate in a brief test evaluating basic skills.
Applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received. If a student is accepted, he must present evidence of a physical examination by his physician prior to enrollment.
